He/Him/His

Greg joined Greatheart as a Senior Consultant after nearly 7 years as VP and Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at Liberty Mutual Insurance. There he was responsible for designing and implementing a DEI learning strategy for 50,000 employees across the US and 13 countries. The learning design included: an award-winning video course called Inclusion in Action; virtual and in-person experiences for all managers; and coaching for C-Suite executives. Greg was a DEI advisor, trainer and coach to Human Resources and business executives. He regularly presented at team and departmental meetings across business units where he was able to engage and inspire others in their DEI learning journey, and create plans for driving DEI deeper into their organizations.

As a white male leader, Greg values engaging other white men to take action as allies. At Liberty Mutual, he designed and led the Men as Allies strategy which included a Summit for over 400 senior male leaders, a Council that engaged majority group members, and an ally curriculum taught by business leaders to other employees. He received a Chairman's Award, the company’s highest honor, for this work and is eager to support other companies in engaging white men as key partners in the DEI strategy.

Prior to Liberty Mutual Greg was a Senior Consultant and Program Director for VISIONS, Inc., a pioneering woman-of-color-led organization specializing in DEI impact and change at both the personal and institutional levels. Greg consulted across the corporate, healthcare, education, and faith-based sectors as well as coaching mid-level and executive leaders. He was in charge of curriculum development, client engagement, and led over 40 consulting teams in assessment, training, and evaluation services.

Greg has an undergraduate degree in philosophy from Colorado College, a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, and a teaching certification from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Throughout graduate school and 15 years after, he was involved in youth leadership development and sustainable agriculture as a founding staff member of The Food Project in the Boston area. The organization brought together urban and suburban youth and communities to create a more sustainable and equitable food system. During his tenure at The Food Project, Greg built foundational skills in bringing people together across differences to envision and achieve a common purpose. He remains committed to these values today as he supports others to build diverse, equitable, and inclusive organizations that can achieve breakthrough results.
