Patricia Brown, or "PB", is the founder/president of YGIS Group, which focuses on helping organizations create and/or expand their diversity, equity & inclusion (DE&I) footprint.

She recently retired from a 28-year career in the commercial insurance industry, during which she worked with leading insurance carriers Aetna, AIG, Allianz Insurance, and Liberty Mutual. Her insurance career spans senior leadership roles in the management of P&L responsibilities for underwriting and sales distribution. Most recently, she led the countrywide field sales excellence initiatives for Liberty Mutual’s business lines and Safeco Insurance.

During her tenure at Liberty Mutual, she was recognized as a countrywide ambassador for several employee resource groups (ERG) and DE&I initiatives. Notably, she led a countrywide chapter expansion of Women and Allies (WE ERG) and served as the site advisor for the Seattle Liberty Employees of African Descent and Allies (LEADA) chairperson of WE-Career Recruiting, and a member of the D&I “Men as Allies” Council.

She sponsored and developed the first national “Women of Color” summit in the fall of 2020, which focused on “humanizing” the DE&I data and creating reciprocal learning for C-suite and senior leadership for the advancement of women of color.

She also served on the board of the national BIG I Diversity Council, which focused on advancing talent diversity within the independent agent channel. Her demonstration of inclusive leadership has been a notable component of her professional brand.

Her passion for mentoring, coaching, and giving back led to her engagement as a board member of YearUP-Seattle, an organization focused on closing the opportunity divide for young talent through education, skills, and support. She also served as an advisory board member of the University of Washington Foster School of Business-Consulting and Business Development Center, which seeks to enrich and sustain minority-owned businesses in the Puget Sound area.

She is a certified diversity and inclusion professional and recently joined Greatheart Consulting as a Contract-Senior Consultant. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in general business/management from the University of New Orleans. She subsequently completed the executive leadership training/certification from University of Chapel Hill/Flagler School of Business in 2003 and earned her MBA from Keller Management School in 2005.
